When
my husband and I decided to remodel our house, we drove
through the streets in our neighborhood looking for remodeling
contractor signs. During the search period, we interviewed
4 contractors. We had specific ideas of what we wanted
done but the bids varied widely. We had almost given up
on the idea of remodeling until we saw the Curb Appeal
truck at the end of our block. Our neighbors gave them
a good recommendation and Rob's bid was more in line with
what we could afford.
Our
home was built in 1947 and had experienced some upgrades
in the 1970s but was in dire need of a more modern look.
In 2001, Rob's crew completely gutted both bathrooms and
the kitchen down to the 2 x 4s. They also stripped off
dated paneling & a built in bookshelf from the walls
in the back bedroom. They removed several gas and ac wall
units and added a door to the garage so a second opener
could be installed. One change involved some rebricking
to an outside wall.
It took
them exactly 1 month to complete the remodel. The kitchen
received new textured & painted walls, GFI wiring,
new flooring, a built in dishwasher, new counter tops and
a cupboard face lift. The bathroom remodel included replacing
some plumbing lines, installing new bathroom tile, fixtures,
toilets, a shower stall and new textured and painted walls.
The walls in the master bedroom were textured and painted
and new carpet was installed. Rob even took the extra time
to replace the window hardware and relabel our electrical
box.
We have
been extremely pleased with the quality of the work and
have experienced no problems with our remodel. A year later,
we received a surprise call from Rob, telling us our warranty
was almost up and was there anything we needed to report.
Should we ever need a remodel job, we would definitely
use Curb Appeal again.

Anyone
who is interested in quality work should give Curb Appeal
serious consideration. I have used Mr. Mathews on several
occasions and he and is staff are very nice and top shelf
carpenters. I have used Curb Appeal to do small and large
projects including a bath remodel, new roof, patio cover
and interior paint work and have been very pleased with
the results. Your home is your most prized possession and
deserves someone who will treat it with the respect and
effort that it demands.

My
husband and I were having problems locating to origin of
an odor in our bathroom. We determined, it had to be a
water leak somewhere or perhaps mold. The plumber could
not locate a leak. The insurance company came out and determined
it was not mold, but was not able to give us direction
to finding or curing the odor problem. The first contractor
came out, looked over the area, set a time to start the
job but never returned. The second contractor came out,
looked over the area, set a time to start the job, took ½ payment,
but never returned. We found Curb Appeal Renovations, Inc
through a listing at Home Depot. Mr. Mathews and his crew
started the work and found an active infestation of termites.
He gave us direction regarding the necessary steps to be
taken to eliminate the termites. He completely gutted both
bathrooms up to the attic, to the outside brick and down
to the concrete floor replacing all the damaged materials.
We took this opportunity to replace all the fixtures, cabinets,
lighting, wallpaper and tile in both bathrooms. The crew
was always well supervised by Mr. Mathews. We were extremely
satisfied with their work ethics and the respect they showed
us and to our home as they worked. After completing the
bathrooms, we engaged Mr. Mathews to build a deck with
a gazebo, lighting around the pool and hot tub. Mr. Mathews
also suggested and installed a system of pipes bringing
water from the outdoor faucet to the pool eliminating the
need to use water hose to fill the pool and added an additional
faucet behind the hot tub for convenience in filling it.
His crew also built and waterproofed an 8 foot privacy
fence. As that project was ending, we asked Mr. Mathews
to enclose ½ of our 2 car garage for a sewing room
for me and an office for my husband. This project included
enlarging our electrical panel box, bringing air conditioning
from the main house, adding attic flooring, blowing insulation
in the attic, creating a large storage area, adding a pull
down stairwell, and 2 electric exhaust vents on the roof.
It is 2 years later and we are still happy with the work
done by Mr. Mathews and his crew. We highly recommend his
company to all our family and friends. Mr. Mathews listened
to what we wanted, offered advice, helped us to make informed
decisions, rendered drawings, and his crew completed the
job in a timely manner and within our budget.

Rob
Mathews and Curb Appeal Renovations have done two big
jobs for me and one for my parents. I have to say that
all were handled professionally from start-to-finish.
Curb Appeal handled a large renovation on my old house that required the tear-out
and rebuilding of walls in two rooms and a complete rebuild of a bathroom,
due to a water/mold problem. All of this while the house was on the market
for sale. They did everything they said they would and finished ahead of schedule,
allowing me to sell the house two days after completion.
When I finished my next house, Rob's guys replaced all of my windows and doors and painted the entire house. The best complement that I can give, besides my appreciation, is that the neighbors all thought it looked great.

it has taken me so long to reply and also to let you know
that I am very satisfied with the kitchen project that
you completed. My kitchen looks great and I am so very
happy with it. The kitchen project included new custom
cabinets, with new cabinets for the built in double ovens,
built in microwave, kitchen sink and countertop. The cabinets
are beautiful and they fit just perfect with all the new
appliances that were installed. The tile floor is also
beautiful with the new tile divider wall and the tile up
against the wall. The tile just ties the room all together.
The lighting is also unique and very different than what
was in the room. All the lighting helped to bring the room
up to date.
Rob, I really appreciate all your help and suggestions. Your ideas really fell
in line with my thoughts but I did not know what to ask for or how to put it
all together. Thank you so much for all your help. The kitchen project was
really one of the best remodeling experience that I have ever had. Your men
were very professional and they all showed up on time. The best thing I really
enjoyed was I knew what work was expected to be done each day. You let me know
in advance each night and the workmen showed up the next day and completed
the work. There were never any days waiting for the workmen to show up. The
cabinet men, the tile men, the plumber, the electrician, the painter, all worked
as a team. They came in, did their work and no one had to wait on anyone else.
It was just like clockwork.
I am looking forward to calling you again for other remodeling jobs that I

Thank
you for the great job that you and your crew did on our
home. We started to just do a remodeling job on our bathroom.
I had gotten several estimates and interviewed several
contractors but was not impressed with any of the others.
Once I found your website and left you a message you responded
quickly. Your professionalism is first rate and your portfolio
sold us that you were the right person to do our job.
Your estimate came in around the price that we had originally figured it would
cost but of course we added extras along the way. I am so glad that I stuck
with my green color scheme. It is beautiful!
We were so impressed with Rob's work that we decided to continue the remodel
throughout the hallway, living room and dining room with new carpet, wainscoting,
and paint. We also added can lights in the living room which greatly modernized
our home.
I am so glad that we chose Curb Appeal because of all the problems that we
found in the original building of our 40+ year old home. I feel that we saved
ourselves from a fire or other disaster thanks to your work.
